RE: Bringing Closure to Georgia Flag Debate March 2, 2004
Some of us struggled long and hard to change the Georgia flag. Thank God the victory has been achieved! The Pre 1956 flag that I included in legislation for almost 20 years is flying over our Capitol and throughout the state of Georgia. A vote to affirm our flag, which does not include the racist Confederate Battle emblem with the St. Andrews Cross, will bring an end to the long, divisive debate. Let’s do it! Please vote yes on our current flag Tuesday, March 2. Let’s move forward – not backward. We can’t afford to do otherwise. Thank you very much.
